Custom Pancakes

Updated: Aug 20, 2021

My grandma makes these amazing pancakes when we come to visit! They are delicious, and my cousin actually prefers them over regular pancakes! You can add whatever you want of course, I just love to add semisweet chocolate to everything. It’s not the healthiest thing in the world so please don’t have this every day! The batter makes about 6 pancakes depending on how you size them. I usually eat 2 pancakes in one sitting, but they're pretty small, so one batch usually lasts me 3 days. Refrigerate the batter when you aren't using it.

Allergens: Wheat (depends on your pancake mix)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup YOUR pancake mix

  • I use the Bisque pancake mix because it has wheat as its only allergen. You want to try to find a mix that works for your specific allergens.

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 tsp of brown sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ banana

  • 1 cup water

  • Your favorite additives

  • Ex: chocolate chips, small pieces of fruit, etc.

Preparation

  1. Combine all the dry ingredients (pancake mix, salt, sugar, cinnamon) in a bowl. Do not mix yet.

  2. Put all the dry ingredients in a blender.

  3. Slice the half banana and put the slices in the blender

  4. Add a cup of water to the blender and mix until well combined

  5. Pour the batter into a container, or bowl (something you can keep in your refrigerator)

  6. Cook on the stove

  7. Let your pan heat up then scoop some batter onto it

  8. Add your favorite additives to the batter in the pan (mine are chocolate chips!)

  9. Let it cook with the pan lid on for 2-3 minutes

  10. Flip the pancake

  11. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes and move it to a plate

  12. Let cool until you’re ready to eat

  13. Enjoy!
